The world and the humans inhabiting it changed dramatically when portals opened into other dimensions. Hunters, humans with awakened abilities, fight the creatures lurking within and are ranked based on strength. Jin-Woo is the only active hunter with an E ranking, the lowest one, and his life changes after joining a raiding party. When most of the party dies in a dungeon, Jin-Woo sacrifices himself to save the others; instead of dying, he lives with video game player-like abilities. As he navigates his new lease on life, he attempts to figure out what is happening concerning the world and portals.
This is a solid series, and this "movie" was supposed to be the second season. Alas, just like some other anime series movies, this one is a majority recap of season one and a tease of season two. It is an excellent watch for anyone wanting to get into the series. This is a great refresher for those who have seen the first season, and the tease will excite you for season two. With a runtime of two hours and one minute, the recap has the potential to be boring for repeat viewers, but for first-timers, it will fly by. I highly recommend this anime, and this movie is a quick way to get started and catch up in one easy viewing.
