This film is a remake of a movie with a riveting production story. The original and this remake are very similar to the novel Dracula. However, the movie takes a different approach to vampire lore and is more sexual. This movie is labeled a horror but is more of a suspense, with few jump scares. The visuals are excellent with the representation of the vampire and the dark and gothic take of the old German town. The film is intriguing, with two hours and twelve minutes of runtime. Still, those familiar with Dracula may find the movie predictable. This is a good watch for fans of classic monster movies and anyone interested in watching a remake of a film that was nearly wiped out of cinematic history over a century ago.
