After surviving a near-fatal lion attack with the help of a mystical potion, Sergei Kravinoff leaves his crime boss, father, and brother behind and sets out on his own. As years pass, he discovers that something in him has changed, and he sets out to be a different man than his father wants him to be. List in hand, he sets out to hunt people who put evil into the world, kicking the hornet's nest and endangering the one person he cares for, his brother.
It is another Sony Spider-Man spinoff, and like its counterparts, it leaves much to be desired. While it is not the greatest superhero movie, it is not the worst. The story does a decent job of telling the origin story of multiple Spidey villains and referencing others. The movie is heavy on action and entertaining, but most of it is CGI. Unfortunately, with a two-hour and seven-minute runtime, there are no easter eggs or significant references to any other Sony movies, Spider-Man, or Marvel movies. Some parts of the movie could be removed entirely to streamline the runtime. With the fate of the Sony Spider-Man Universe sealed, this movie can be skipped. This movie can be streamed when available for completeness or mindless entertainment.
