President-Elect Ross, formerly General Ross, has taken the reins of the US on a platform of unity. His past actions as general leave many in his opposition skeptical of his ability to change, especially Sam Wilson. When announcing his first act as President, an assassination attempt is made, thrusting Sam into an international incident.
This is the first Marvel of 2025, and it can go either way. The story is entertaining but lacks some backstory. The missing information could be plotholes or might require watching a series. This story does something previous movies did not, referring to and looping in other storylines from previous Marvel movies. The action is well done and peppered throughout. The one-hour and fifty-eight-minute runtime flies. This movie will get Marvel fans excited for the future phases but is missing something to put it over the top. Catching it in the theater will always be a better experience, but the movie being worth a ticket will be viewer-dependent.
